Unless something changes, I think I'm only going to have colorings on here. There's something sweetly simple about them. I also find pure galleries kind of interesting.
When I say colorings, it's going to be exclusively colored pencil work, I expect. I've started doing art again to enjoy myself and relax - so I'm using the easiest, most personally intuitive medium I know. I also think colored pencil seems to be fading away in favor of digital work, so there's that, too.
I also find it disappointing that colored pencils suffer from a twinge of disrespect. I caught it in college, when it was understood that colored pencils couldn't be used for renderings. It wasn't accepted. Mm... perhaps 'dismissed without consideration' is closer to the mark.
Anyway, one other thing I want to mention; at this time I'm only using Crayola brand colored pencils. For about ten years each, my sister and I would get a new 24 packs for school, use 10-20% of the content and destroy the box in the course of the year. Everything that was left all wound up in a shoe box. It still has 250+ pencils in it and they really ought to be used.
Crayola colored pencils were never great to begin with, so the fact they're all old and have been bounced around in a backpack for a year each has left them very often broken inside. When sharpening, it's easy to burn through half of a pencil before getting another decent tip. The short of the story is they could go pretty if I start producing much. Perhaps I'll be lucky and see some new Prismacolors come Christmas.
